Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a quick, in-office treatment that fades unwanted leg veins by injecting a tiny amount of medicine into the vein, causing it to seal and be naturally absorbed by the body. It’s ideal for spider veins and small reticular veins, and most people are in and out in under an hour with little to no downtime.

Benefits at a Glance

  • Fades spider and small reticular veins
  • Minimal downtime - walk out and get on with your day
  • In-office treatment with a custom plan for your legs
  • Results build over weeks, with options to refine in follow-ups

What to Expect

We’ll map the veins, cleanse the skin, and use a very fine needle to inject a small amount of solution into each spider vein—brief pinches or warmth are common. The visit is about 30–60 minutes. You’ll walk out in compression stockings with simple aftercare instructions.

Who's This Treatment For?

You’re a great candidate if you’d like to fade small surface veins (think spider or fine blue “reticular” veins) on your legs with little to no downtime. It’s not designed for larger, bulging varicose veins—if we spot those, we’ll guide you to the right vein treatment. For safety, we hold off during pregnancy and review any clotting or allergy history first.

Appointment Length

Most visits run 60-90 minutes. We’ll do a quick vein map, treat with a series of tiny injections, then slip on your compression stockings and review simple aftercare. Many guests see best results with 1-3 sessions, typically spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

What's Normal Afterwards

Mild redness, itching, or bruising at the tiny injection sites is common for a few days; larger treated veins can feel a little firm or lumpy as your body clears them over weeks. You’ll be asked to walk the same day and wear compression as directed; keep the area out of sun while it heals. Some people notice temporary color changes or fine new surface veins (“matting”) that usually fade with time.

Aftercare

Plan on light walking the same day and wear your compression stockings as directed—this helps your results shine. Skip hot baths/saunas and high-intensity workouts for 48–72 hours, and keep treated areas out of direct sun. Mild redness, itching, or bruising is common and fades; if anything feels unusual, just reach out and we’ll take care of you.

Safety & Rare Risks

Sclerotherapy is generally very safe, but we’ll review your history to keep it that way. Uncommon issues include allergy to the solution, small skin sores or dark spots, and—very rarely—blood clots in deeper veins (DVT) or other complications. We’ll go over all risks and how we minimize them at your visit.
